About Me

Hi! My name is Hanna, welcome to HyperfixEat! About six years ago, I got really into cooking and meal planning. I bought all the equipment, cook books, etc.. and had grand schemes to become a meal prepping, fancy meal cooking power house. As I’m sure is a familiar story to other folks with ADHD, that lasted for about a month and I’m honestly proud it lasted as long as it did! While I quickly lost interest in cooking elaborate meals that take hours and require a ton of equipment (and dreaded dishes), I found that I do really love cooking and especially enjoy taking charge of my nutrition.

The main pain point I kept running into was time and motivation. I’d buy ingredients and then 5pm rolled around and I had no desire to prep for 30 minutes, cook for 30 minutes to an hour, and then clean up a billion dishes. Another familiar tale, this lead to spoiling food, guilt about the spoiled food, and stress in general around a hobby I didn’t want to give up.

Because I wasn’t willing to give up, instead I decided to adapt. I started making my grocery list and weekly meal plan with meals that would fit in any motivation level. I started stocking my pantry and freezer with ingredients for “lazy” meals. It took some trial and error, but now I can look back and honestly say that it worked! Cooking is fun again because I have flexibility and my household saves money and reduces food waste!

My recipes won’t have stories or require you to scroll for ages to get to the information you want. I’ll also be adding context I’m always looking for when I see a new recipe, like what happens if I forget to preheat the oven! Enjoy!
